American Express, Twitter team up for small business ads program
American Express and Twitter are teaming up to provide $1 million in free advertising to small businesses, who sign up for a new promotional service on Twitter.
American Express card-members and merchants will get an exclusive access to Twitter’s new advertising program for small businesses. Under the plan, American Express would offer $100 in free Twitter advertising to the first 10,000 eligible businesses that register for the program.
Small business owners are required to sign up to follow American Express on Twitter.
The advertising program is scheduled to launch in late March 2012.
“This partnership with Twitter gives our small business owners access to a powerful tool for reaching and engaging existing and new customers,” American Express Vice Chairman Ed Gilligan said.
